OUR HEART FELT HOMAGE TO THE FOUNDER Late S. PURUSHOTTAM SINGH ANAND (16.11.1925 – 28.08.1995)

Behind this illustrious institution, there are the indelible memories of our founder Late S. Purushottam Singh Anand who lit the lamp of literacy and spread the message of universal brotherhood in the backward areas.

Born in a small village of Pakistan, S. Anand shifted to Ambala during partition time in 1947. Being benevolent by nature, he always aspired for doing something noble for the needy and destitute. He firmly believed that a right kind of education can bring advancement & prosperity. His latent desire got an outlet in the year 1978 when he founded the educational unit viz. Guru Nanak Mission Public School at Paonta Sahib with the least resources. He had a chance meeting with Mr. B.S. Saini in Chandigarh in the year 1985. He spared no efforts to convince Mr. Saini to be the custodian of this unit. Hard work & sincerity of the two resulted into the expansion of the school. It was upgraded to Secondary level and later to Sr. Sec. School. Under the dynamic stewardship of Mr. B.S. Saini, the school sent its first batch to appear for X in 1987 & for XII in 1994. Since then, the school has never looked back and has been marching towards new heights.

Within a short span of 3 decades, the school has taken giant strides in the field of education. We are indebted to Late S. Purushottam Singh Anand who sacrificed all the comforts of his life and worked tirelessly and zealously for the sake of the mission. We pay him a great homage by upholding the great tenets of his life and aiming to make it an institution of excellence.
